Role Summary:

Barrington James are working with an established med-tech company who are specialized in Ophthalmology in the Medical Device world. Due to strong growth throughout 2023, they are now looking to add a Director of Software Engineering to their high performing technical team in Atlanta, Georgia.

Our client is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead and manage the development of their software applications. The Ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Software engineers through the development stages of an advanced Medical Device.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, lead, and grow a team of engineers with a focus on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Product focused role, development and timelines (initial IC role)
Telecommunications in Med Devices.
Thorough documentation of software development processes and maintain comprehensive.
Planning of technology and product roadmaps in alignment with business goals.
Q&A and Compliance management.
Implement and maintain secure development and QA processes.
Strategic Planning
Cross-departmental liaison across Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, and Marketing.
Reporting and Documentation

Requirements for Consideration:

Co-ordinator, technical background.
8+ Years in a leadership role in an agile environment (MED DEVICES).
10+ Years of FDA Regulated Software environment software development.
BA or master’s in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Knowledgeable in RA Standards and QA Management systems for medical devices
React Native & Python Tech stack
Ability to manage multiple priorities as part of a growing start up.
Previous experience within healthcare or life sciences, with ophthalmology experience preferred.
