TITLE: Software Developer - SQL and JavaScript Specialist

LOCATION: New York City (hybrid) or Fully Remote in the United States

SALARY: $120,000 - $150,000 (based on NYC, will be adjusted for geo)

The Role:

We are seeking a talented Software Developer with expertise in SQL and JavaScript, along with a keen interest in developing internal tools using low-code solutions like ReTool.

As a Software Developer at Canoe, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining internal tools that empower our teams to work more efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL and JavaScript, with a passion for creating scalable and user-friendly solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and translate them into effective low-code applications.

What You’ll Do:

Design, develop, and maintain internal tools using SQL and JavaScript, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
Utilize low-code platforms, particularly ReTool, to create intuitive and efficient tools for various departments within the organization.
Implement and optimize database solutions, ensuring data integrity and security. Proficiency in SQL is essential for effective database management.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand workflows, and deliver tailored solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, actively contributing ideas for process improvement and tool enhancement.

What We’re Looking For:

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in software development with a strong focus on SQL and JavaScript.
Familiarity with low-code development platforms, particularly ReTool, is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of data management, storage and optimization.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Github).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
