As we position ourselves for growth, we are looking for a web developer who aligns with and is inspired by our values (at the bottom of this posting).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Approx. 5–10 hours a week, which will increase as the company grows
Attend a team-wide 9:30am (ET) daily huddle via Slack
Available to collaborate via Slack as needed during normal business hours (ET)
Trustworthy and organized to handle confidential log-in credentials
Manage monthly web maintenance process for 20 websites
Take designs from XD and customize the Avada theme for new website builds
Able to take a design concept and build out new web pages accordingly, executing with a balance of design and function
Update existing WordPress websites as needed (i.e. content, images, new posts, pop-ups)
Higher-level developer tasks, such as: setting-up development sites, changing DNS settings, trouble-shooting technical issues, and writing custom code for specific use-cases

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS

Design Proficiency

Well-versed in Adobe XD and Adobe Photoshop
Able to retouch and size photography for websites
Equipped with a firm understanding of basic design principles
Has design experience, an eye for detail to take a web design, and the ability to take a web design and flesh it out across an entire site

WordPress Proficiency

Experience in installing, setting up, building, and managing WordPress, specifically the Avada theme
Skills in theme customization and plugin integration
Familiarity with WordPress' content management capabilities

Web Development Fundamentals

Proficiency in HTML and CSS for structuring and styling web content
Basic knowledge of JavaScript for interactive elements

PHP Programming

Basic understanding of PHP, as it's the core language of WordPress

Domain Management

Knowledge of domain registration, DNS management, and configuring domain settings
Understanding how to point a domain to a web hosting service and set up subdomains or redirects as needed
