A venture-backed AI infrastructure startup is assembling its founding team in New York. Their platform powers mission-critical, real-time decisions across healthcare, logistics & defense. Think multi-agent orchestration, ultra-low latency pipelines & systems where milliseconds matter.

Profile
This is not a “ML-only” role and not a “frontend-only” role.
You’re a strong fullstack engineer first, who is comfortable owning production systems and integrating ML where it actually adds leverage.
You:
- Think clearly under ambiguity
- Simplify complex problems into clean systems
- Connect product intent to technical reality
- Don’t wait for permission to take ownership
Stack: React, TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, gRPC, REST, Docker, K8S, CI/CD
ML / AI layer includes:
- Python-based ML services
- LLM integrations (LangChain-style orchestration)
- RAG pipelines, data ingestion & retrieval layers
- Evaluation, monitoring & iteration of ML-backed features
They’re looking for people who:
- Have shipped real projects that mattered - solo or on a team
- Can write clean, modern frontend in React and TypeScript
- Can own backend services, APIs, and data flows
- Can integrate ML into production systems responsibly
- Understand trade-offs, constraints & architecture
- Don’t stall under pressure or ambiguity
- Want end-to-end ownership across design, code, infra & delivery
- Operate fast and lean without compromising on quality
- Think about systems, not just features
In this role, you’ll:
- Build core product functionality across frontend and backend
- Design and implement clean APIs and service boundaries
- Work directly with product and design - no hand-offs
- Implement ML-powered features inside real production workflows
- Shape early architecture, tooling, and engineering standards
- Ship frequently, iterate based on real usage, and scale what works
- Be one of the people who defines how engineering is done
