Role -UI Full Stack Developer
Location - Madison, WI
Job Description
Denari is looking for a full-stack engineer who leans backend, writes TypeScript as a first language, and can build a data-connected frontend in React without a designer holding their hand. This is a high-agency,
high-ownership role where a new hire can realistically take full technical ownership of an entire product inside the suite.
The engineering team is small and in heavy build mode — shipping every piece of software an accounting firm needs outside of tax. The engineer hired here will design data structures, build data-connected frontends, and establish patterns that the next engineers build on top of. Design sense is required. AI is a force multiplier, not a crutch.
Requirements
Technical - Strong TypeScript proficiency — treated as a first language, not a JS migration - React proficiency is non-negotiable — capable front to back, leaning backend - Experience designing schemas and data structures that survive contact with reality - Non-trivial track record — something shipped and used by real people -
Current on modern engineering tooling and the software engineering zeitgeist
Execution and Ownership - High agency, works through ambiguity, does not wait for specs - Design sense —no designers on the team, engineers own the UI - Bias toward ownership, momentum, and open collaboration (no "greater-than-bow energy") - Came from a software business, not a bank IT department or legacy
enterprise
