Position Summary
We’re looking for a highly capable AI-first engineer who can build, orchestrate, and ship complex software across web and native mobile platforms at exceptional speed.
This role is for someone who has fundamentally adapted their engineering workflow around modern AI coding agents and agentic development environments. You should be highly proficient working inside tools such as OpenAI Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, Warp, and similar AI-assisted or AI-native development environments, and know how to coordinate multiple agents, models, repositories, and workstreams simultaneously.
You’ll work across Next.js / TypeScript, Swift / SwiftUI, and Kotlin / Jetpack Compose, often developing multiple clients against the same backend in parallel. You’ll own features from architecture and implementation through testing, integration, CI/CD, and production deployment.
This is not a role for someone who simply prompts an AI assistant to generate isolated pieces of code. We’re looking for an engineer who knows how to orchestrate AI agents as an engineering system—breaking down problems, managing context, assigning parallel workstreams, reviewing generated code, enforcing architectural consistency, debugging failures, and bringing the resulting system into production. Webflow and UI/UX design is a huge plus!
What You’ll Do
AI-First Engineering & Agent Orchestration
- Use AI coding agents as a core part of your daily engineering workflow.
- Coordinate multiple agents working across frontend, mobile, backend integration, testing, refactoring, documentation, and deployment tasks.
- Decompose large engineering objectives into clear, independently executable agent workstreams.
- Maintain architectural consistency when multiple AI agents are modifying the same product or related codebases.
- Design effective repository-level instructions, context, rules, prompts, tooling, and workflows for agentic development.
- Determine when work should be delegated to an agent, run in parallel, or handled directly by an engineer.
- Review, validate, debug, and improve AI-generated implementations rather than accepting generated code blindly.
- Use agents for codebase exploration, migrations, refactors, test creation, debugging, dependency analysis, and implementation planning.
- Build workflows that allow one engineer to effectively manage multiple simultaneous engineering threads.
Web Frontend Engineering
Build sophisticated production web applications using technologies such as:
- Next.js
- React
- TypeScript
- Modern React Server Components and client/server architecture
- GSAP and advanced browser animation
- Responsive and adaptive interface systems
- Component libraries and design systems
- Modern CSS architecture
- Performance optimization
- Complex state and data synchronization
You should be capable of translating product and design requirements directly into production-quality frontend systems without needing a narrowly scoped implementation specification for every feature.
API & Data Client Architecture
We expect substantially deeper API experience than simply calling endpoints with fetch() or Axios.
You should be comfortable designing and maintaining typed, production-grade frontend API layers using technologies and patterns such as:
- TanStack Query / React Query
- GraphQL clients such as Apollo Client or urql
- OpenAPI-generated TypeScript clients
- GraphQL code generation
- Schema-driven API clients
- Typed request and response models
- Request caching and invalidation
- Optimistic updates
- Pagination and infinite queries
- Retry and backoff strategies
- Request deduplication
- Authentication and token refresh
- Error normalization
- Client-side persistence
- Real-time subscriptions
- WebSockets and server-sent events
- REST and GraphQL API architecture
You should understand how to build an API layer that becomes an intentional subsystem of the frontend architecture, rather than scattering HTTP requests throughout UI components.
Native iOS Engineering
Build and maintain production iOS applications using:
- Swift
- SwiftUI
- Swift Concurrency / async / await
- Observation and modern state-management patterns
- URLSession
- Alamofire where appropriate
- Codable and strongly typed API models
- Native authentication and secure credential storage
- Push notifications
- Background execution
- Deep linking
- App lifecycle management
- App Store deployment and signing
You should understand how to architect reusable networking and data layers on iOS rather than coupling network calls directly to views.
Experience with GraphQL clients such as Apollo iOS is valuable.
Native Android Engineering
Build and maintain production Android applications using:
- Kotlin
- Jetpack Compose
- Kotlin Coroutines
- Flow / StateFlow
- ViewModel architecture
- Retrofit
- OkHttp
- Ktor Client
- Serialization and typed API models
- GraphQL clients such as Apollo Kotlin
- Native authentication
- Push notifications
- Background work
- Deep linking
- Android lifecycle management
- Google Play deployment
You should understand modern Android data-layer patterns including repository architecture, reactive data streams, caching, synchronization, and typed API access.
Cross-Platform Product Engineering
A major part of this role is the ability to think across platforms.
A feature may need to ship simultaneously across:
Backend API → TypeScript client → Next.js → Swift client → iOS → Kotlin client → Android
You should be comfortable coordinating these implementations in parallel while maintaining consistent:
- API contracts
- Business logic
- Data models
- Authentication behavior
- Analytics
- Feature flags
- Error states
- Loading states
- User experience
- Release behavior
You should know which concerns should be shared conceptually between platforms and which should remain idiomatic to each platform.
Deployment & DevOps
You should be capable of taking the software you build all the way into production.
Experience should include several of the following:
- GitHub Actions
- CI/CD pipelines
- Vercel
- AWS
- Google Cloud Platform
- Docker
- Cloud Run
- Serverless infrastructure
- Environment and secret management
- Preview deployments
- Automated testing
- Build pipelines
- App Store Connect
- Google Play Console
- Production monitoring
- Error tracking
- Release management
You should be comfortable diagnosing failures that span application code, build systems, infrastructure, APIs, authentication, and deployment environments.
What We’re Looking For
You are likely a strong fit if you:
- Are an exceptional frontend or product engineer first, with AI dramatically amplifying your capabilities.
- Have adopted AI-assisted development as your primary engineering workflow, not an occasional productivity tool.
- Regularly use tools such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, Warp, or equivalent agentic development systems.
- Can supervise multiple AI-generated workstreams without losing architectural coherence.
- Are highly proficient with TypeScript and modern React / Next.js.
- Can build meaningful production features in Swift / SwiftUI and Kotlin / Jetpack Compose.
- Understand modern frontend data-fetching architecture beyond Axios and raw HTTP requests.
- Have deep experience consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Understand strongly typed API client generation and schema-driven development.
- Can independently debug unfamiliar systems.
- Can move comfortably between product requirements, UI implementation, API integration, architecture, infrastructure, and deployment.
- Have strong engineering judgment and know when generated code is incorrect, fragile, unnecessarily complex, or architecturally inappropriate.
- Prefer shipping complete systems over producing isolated code.
Bonus points for experience with:
- OpenAI APIs and agent frameworks
- MCP / Model Context Protocol
- Agent tool calling
- Multi-agent architectures
- Structured outputs
- LLM evaluation and observability
- Agent memory and context management
- Agentic CI/CD workflows
- Automated code review
- Monorepos
- GraphQL federation
- OpenAPI / Swagger code generation
- GraphQL Code Generator
- TanStack Query
- Apollo
- tRPC
- Zod
- WebSockets
- Real-time applications
- Design systems
- Figma-to-production workflows
- Complex GSAP animation systems
- Native mobile design systems
- Feature flagging and experimentation
What Excellence Looks Like
An excellent engineer in this role can receive a product objective such as:
“Build this new workflow across web, iOS, and Android and integrate it with these APIs.”
and independently turn it into:
- A technical architecture.
- A set of parallelizable engineering workstreams.
- Appropriate tasks and context for coding agents.
- A strongly typed API integration layer.
- Production-quality implementations across Next.js, Swift, and Kotlin.
- Automated tests and validation.
- CI/CD and deployment.
- A reviewed, coherent, production-ready feature.
The goal is not merely to write code faster with AI.
The goal is to use AI, agents, strong engineering fundamentals, and modern development tooling to dramatically increase the scope and quality of software that a single exceptional engineer can design, build, validate, and ship.
