Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Shopify Headless Developer to build and scale modern ecommerce experiences using Shopify Plus with a headless architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with enterprise-scale commerce implementations and modern frontend technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain headless Shopify storefronts using Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Develop custom ecommerce experiences across product discovery, cart, checkout, customer accounts, and post-purchase workflows.
- Integrate Shopify using Admin API, Storefront API, Customer Account API, GraphQL, and Webhooks.
- Develop custom functionality using Shopify Functions and Checkout UI Extensions.
- Build integrations with enterprise systems including payments, fulfillment, inventory, OMS, CRM, and PIM platforms.
- Optimize storefront performance, APIs, Core Web Vitals, and mobile experiences.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and Engineering teams on scalable commerce solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of ecommerce development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Shopify Plus and headless commerce.
- Strong proficiency with Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience with Shopify APIs, GraphQL, Webhooks, and custom integrations.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify Checkout Extensions, Shopify Functions, and Admin API.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce fundamentals including catalog, cart, checkout, payments, promotions, fulfillment, and order lifecycle.
- Experience with API-first or composable commerce architectures.
- Experience integrating Shopify with enterprise platforms such as ERP, OMS, PIM, or payment systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Hydrogen/Oxygen.
- Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Sanity, Contentful, Builder.io, or AEM.
- Experience with MACH/composable commerce architecture.
- Enterprise-scale ecommerce experience.
- Experience with Vercel, Datadog, Sentry, or similar platforms.
- Shopify certification.
Important: This is a headless commerce-focused role. Candidates whose experience is primarily theme-based Shopify development are not a fit.
