We're hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to join as developer #2 at a fast-growing, mission-driven EdTech startup building the nation's largest college and career counseling dataset.
About the Role
You'll work directly alongside our founding engineer, owning core systems from first commit to production. This is a foundational hire with real scope: cybersecurity, data privacy, and de-identification pipelines serving school districts with hundreds of thousands of students, while wiring LLMs into real production workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own core systems end to end, from first commit to production
- Ship weekly into a product used for real, high-stakes decisions
- Wire LLMs into real production workflows, not demos
- Make architecture calls trading speed against reliability, security, and scale
- Work without detailed specs — define the problem, then solve it
Requirements
- 0-5 years experience as a high-slope, hungry, intelligent engineer
- Startup experience (ideally founding/early stage) or ownership of complex end-to-end projects
- Proficient in TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js, AWS
- Genuine experience using AI coding agents (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code) in production
- Experience integrating LLMs into production applications
- Must be able to work on-site 5 days/week in NYC (Bryant Park)

$150K–$190K + competitive equity
