Head / VP of Engineering, direct hire
Remote: US & Canada— any time zone
Compensation: $200–300K (DOE & Location) + Equity
A fast‑growing, mission‑critical SaaS platform is seeking a hands‑on Head/VP of Engineering to stabilize, scale, and modernize a complex .NET/React, cloud‑native system used in high‑stakes operational environments. This is a player‑coach role leading a 40‑person engineering organization while driving architectural evolution, delivery excellence, and a culture of accountability. You’ll inherit a real production system with real customers and real impact — and have the mandate to transform it into a world‑class platform. High autonomy, high visibility, and equity aligned to long‑term value creation.
Role:
- Modernizing a large .NET/React platform into a modular, scalable architecture
- Building mature CI/CD pipelines, predictable delivery processes, and strong SDLC discipline
- Raising the bar on automated testing, quality, and documentation
- Implementing modern observability, reliability practices, and incident response
- Owning security, compliance, and audit readiness (SOC 2, HIPAA‑like rigor)
- Leading and developing global engineering teams across time zones
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience modernizing legacy or monolithic systems at scale
- Strong technical depth in .NET, React, Azure, and modern architecture patterns
- Proven leadership of engineering orgs
- Track record of improving delivery velocity, quality, and operational rigor
- Comfort operating in regulated or mission‑critical environments
- A leadership style rooted in ownership, clarity, and disciplined execution
- Strong understanding and use of Modern Tooling/AI
